Most of what I have learned so far in trying to reach my goals is the importance of organization. I have also been learning about the importance of online collaboration tools and how to integrate technology into any lesson I teach. With this has come many more opportunities for learning about more websites to use in my classroom. I have recently found several more web quests and websites that I could use in my classroom for various New York State Standards.
The new goals that I have set for myself are to continue organizing my new technology tools and to find more online collaboration tools that I would be able to use at an elementary school level. I also want to continue to meet my goals by finishing the rest of the work for Walden University to the best of my ability.

What did you find to be the best way to organize your technolgy tools. I write down various websites and tools but they seem to get lost in the mix.

ReplyDeleteIt seems like things are falling into place for you and your finding sites you can use with your students. How do you have your students access these sites? Do you provide them with the link on your class web page? I find that copying links to word documents by grade level helps me keep them organized and easily retrievable for posting on my web page. That way I can just keep adding them as I find them.

ReplyDeleteThanks! Computers are accessible through the computer lab, which does get taken up fairly quickly so if I want to use it, usually it cannot be last minute. This is frustrating but it just means I have to be that more organized with planning lessons to make sure I have the technology for it. The classrooms have two to three computers to use everyday, I wish I had more!

I think organizing them by standard and grade level is the most useful. Since you never know what grade level you might have at some point in time I always keep things for every grade.

I would save the website under the favorites tab and then students can directly access the website without having to use some sort of search engine. I would also put the link on the class page as well. I think your way of organizing sounds wonderful!
